Christmas Parade

Ya know, I think often at all the things I wanted to do as a kid that my kids get to do.  Now don’t get me wrong, I had a fun-filled and adventurous childhood full of great opportunities. But I just have to stop and be thankful for all of the amazing things my kids get to do because of where God planted us. 🙂

So yesterday, my girls had the opportunity to decorate their horses and ride with their best friends in the Alice Christmas Parade.

For many, this probably seems trivial, silly, or not so amazing.

I’ve been on lots of floats in parades, and even walked my duck dressed up in costume in a halloween parade once.

But I never got to ride a horse in a parade with my best friends.  🙂

Morgan’s horse Grace is pregnant and due in 3 months 4 weeks and 1 day (according to my blog foal ticker :)) so she rode one of Abi’s horses. I had hauled Taylor’s horse Lee and Kaitlyn’s horse Rucker to the church stables to have a sleepover the night before with the Cole horses so they would be there and ready to go.

So here’s how it all went down-

Levi went to work with me for the day.  In the afternoon, our good friend (our cowboy church preacher) organized girls and horses, making trips to Walmart for extra “horse” decorations, hauled them to the parade and got them off and going.  I got off of work just in time for Levi and I to make it dowtown and secure a spot to watch. The horses came at the end of the parade- it was pretty dark so my cell phone camera wouldn’t work and since I lost my camera and don’t have a replacement, I didn’t get any pictures. Fortunately Pastor Cole posted a couple on Facebook of them at lineup.

Morgan on Scarlet, Kaitlyn on Rucker, Taylor on Lee, Becki on Grey, and Abi on Viper

The girls just had such a wonderful time and made some absolutely priceless memories with their best friends. The pastor’s oldest daughter even came to ride with them. She is such a sweetheart and I’m so glad she was able to join them! I am just so grateful, thankful, and absolutely in awe of our awesome God for sending us such amazing friends. I prayed long and hard and God definitely answered our prayers beyond my wildest dreams!

What kind of memories are you making this Christmas season??

Enjoy the Journey!

Chris
