Nothin' 2 Prove

The building of Gunn Ranch Academy one caliche rock at a time; our friends, family, passions, learning adventures and our little piece of HIStory in the making!

Making some progress…

I’ve taken some time to get some things back on my blog. I get frustrated spending so much time sitting at the computer, but much of it is because of our country-fried slow internet.  Seems like much of my time is wasted waiting for screens to load, LOL.  I finally decided on a template, although I’m not totally happy with it- I really wanted a larger header- just couldn’t find one that I didn’t have to cut a picture into a squashed up long one. Not too many pictures really do that- even making on collage of pics just didn’t work. Maybe I’ll work a little more on that later, but for now I think the sunset at our ranch is pretty awesome, other than the weird blue part at the left that didn’t go away when I loaded the header. Not sure why that happened, but it’ll have to do. I did spend quite a bit of time resizing our personal pics- would have liked to use a different horse  for mine and Morgan’s picture, but I really like both pictures so Takota got to be a prop for two pictures. I’m planning to work with the “pages” to see if I can create a page of all of our critters so the other horses and pets don’t get their feelings hurt  🙂 – and of course since they are all special to us. Really wanted my two sidebars on left and right with the main posts in the middle, but ther are only a couple of those and I just didn’t care much for the look of them.  I just don’t have time to maintain two blogs, so decided not to start one on Blogger which was recommended by lots of folks- those templates and backgrounds are really nice and many says it’s really easy to use. Somehow, though, I just felt like hanging in there with HSB, even though the look isn’t really what I’d prefer.

On the homefront we are currently missing Taylor as she is on week two of her Nashville visit- and are busy doing laundry and packing for our own visit in two days. Daddy will be staying home to work and take care of the critters.

I’ve got two book reviews to post, but since I’ve spent my computer time working on my blog today, guess I’ll have to save that for another day. Maybe I can get at least one done while I’m in Nashville. I have really enjoyed both books- “Captivating ” and “Bringing Up Girls”(which I’m not totally done with yet).

I’ll also be doing my “practice review” for our new TOS Homeschool Crew cruise in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned as we set sail for a new year of Crew reviews. I definitely won’t have as many reviews this year since the crew has been split into younger and older crews which means twice as many reviewers.

The next couple of weeks I’ll also be working on scheduling our next years subjects. I’ll be adding Levi to the mix next year, so I’m gonna really try and get a good schedule put together so we can accomplish what we need to in the next school year. I’m so excited that I was able to order the whole Kinderbach set on DVD during the summer sale. He absolutely loves Kinderbach, and I’ll definitely keep my blog updated with posts on his Kinderbach adventures!!

With that I’ll sign off and get away from this screen now. I’m really tempted to keep working as there are many more widgets I’d like to add to my sidebars, but it’ll just have to wait for another day.
