Cocka Doodle Boo
This week is the Jim Wells County fair. Since we only joined 4-H this year, we didn’t have anything to enter in the fair. We have really been enjoying the week with the club, however, helping out with events, like potatoe washing for the 4-H steak dinner night, selling programs for the queen contest, running the concession stand, riding in the Fair parade, and building a club scarecrow for the scarecrow contest.
When the girls heard about the scarecrow contest at the meeting, they were excited because there are club and individual entries. So I called and got them set up with as an individual entry, and they went to work on their plans. Daddy helped the girls to implement their plans and build their chicken scarecrow. They had to come up with a name for him, so decided on "Cocka Doodle Boo".
Wednesday night at the fair during the Queens contest, they announced winners for many fair projects, including the scarecrows. The girls ended up winning third and a cool little scarecrow prize.
They were thrilled!
Not sure why my pictures are coming out so blurry these days. I suspect that Levi "adjusted" my camera a bit a few weeks back after finding some foreign goo on my lens that was stuck open, LOL.
